This theme park has been around since 1889 and even though the rides may have changed over the years, as well as the location, the same atmosphere of family fun and entertainment persists. The US Mint, in downtown Denver, was opened in 1863 and is one of only two in the country where visitors can actually watch coins being produced. There is a self-guided tour with informative signs and great views of the minting process; while scheduled tours need to be booked in advance through congressional representatives, as security measures have increased over the last few years. Uncertainty remains as to whether walk-in visitors will be allowed in the future.
